Summer Worship Has Begun!
We are trying something new along with something old this summer. Like last year, worship begins at 10am and lasts about ¾ hour. We are also trying out new music to sing - some new words to old tunes, and others with new words to new tunes. The order of worship will change, too. So please join us in our air conditioned sanctuary. Children are always welcome to worship!
We are now on summer office hours. The administrative assistant will be here on Tues. & Thurs. 9 am – 1pm. Pastor Ruth will have office hours on Wed. from 9am – noon. Pastor Ruth will not have office hours on Wednesday, July 28 because of a continuing education workshop. We will switch back to regular hours the last week in August.
Safe Church Policy Training Session - Sunday, July 18 - 11:15 am
To fully implement the Safe Church Policy that was adopted by the Church Council last year, a Safe Church training session will be given for anyone working or volunteering for ministries for children and youth offered by our church. Regular or occasional volunteers for Church School, VBS and next year’s Confirmation Program should plan to attend. In addition, because the safe church response team is comprised of leadership positions, chairs of boards and church council should attend a training session.
The first opportunity to attend a training session will be held on Sunday, July 18 at 11:15 am in Pastor Ruth’s office (which is air-conditioned). The one hour session will be led by Pastor Ruth and will include an educational component about child abuse; an overview of the policy; and an overview of the volunteer application process.
You need only attend one training session and your attendance does not mean you have to complete a volunteer application, however to participate in ministries involving children or youth, a volunteer application must be completed. The training session will also be offered on: Thursday July 25, 7-8 pm and Sunday August 29, 8:30-9:30am.

Faith and Family Day at the Rockcats Stadium:

Come out and celebrate a fun, faith based day with the Rock Cats! Another chance for family fun; it’s the offer of discount tickets as a group to a New Britain Rock Cats baseball game on
Sunday, August 29th at 1:30pm. I have reserved a block of 30 tickets; $5/pp (assigned seating area, second level). This is a great opportunity to get together as a church right before school begins. The kids are invited to run the bases after the game and there will also be a live Christian band to entertain the crowd as part of this Faith and Family Day celebration. If you’d like to take part please call me, 742-9331 or email me, Cathy
C, as soon as you know you can participate. I would need payment by August 8
th. Let’s end the summer with a great homerun! Look for a poster on the bulletin board near the parish hall. To view or print out a flyer for this event click on the logo.
